Songs that make you want to dance - List yours

Post by Birdseye »

OK, so I am working on finishing up my first album, and I need to make 2 or 3 good dance tracks for playing out live. I need some inspiration and some ideas, so list the songs that make you want to shake your booty the most. Since I make electronic music (closer to aphex twin than stuff spun by paul oakenfold) naming a couple electronic songs would help. Everything is welcome, though.

Well my favorite Aphex Twin track is vordhosbn.

Comedy answer: get Toxic Shack from here

I can list off a bunch of DnB tracks if you want.

"Do It Now" by Dubtribe Soundsystem or "Happiness is Free (When You Lose Your Mind)" by La Onda.

They're both pretty "house" but definitely booty-shakin' material.

are you shitting me?

I have little to contribute. The kind of music you're looking for makes me homicidal. My idea of dance involves a ballroom.

Dance-inducing songs, eh?

Crystal Method - Busy Child, Vapor Trail, Murder (aka You Know It's Hard), Born Too Slow, Acetone
Fluke - Atom Bomb
Orbital - most of the tracks on Orbital 1 (Green Album)
Prodigy - Mindfields, Narayan

Some of Crystal Method's other songs are incredible on the dance floor as I personally found out when they hit Denver on their 2004 tour, but the above are the best.

Any MIDI that I can give my unique fingerprint to through fruityloops.

Current ones would be: Miners and Climbers (Lemmings) and Duke Nukem's Stalker.
