Why didn't the PXO crowd just join Kali?

Why didn't the PXO crowd just join Kali?
That's pretty much the question, since you can play d3 over kali, and alot of people who came from kali to play on pxo already have kali accounts. And for newbies, they're pretty cheap. So why all the fuss about an IRC channel?

Yet no one jumped on the bandwagon when kali was only $10? Still, its now $20, and you pay that how many times? Once. I know, I didn't buy my Kali for at least a month when I was first using it. I even tried finding ways to fool it or hack it, but eventually I saw the value of it and simply purchased my own serial number. Nothing nicer or prouder than owning your own serial numbers.

I didn't mean for my post to sound like a plug for kali, but then again, I'm a hardcore fan of it. Granted, alot of people stick around Kali these days just to chat. In my opinion, this is caused because we've grown to know each other alot. We know who we love, and who we hate, and we've gotten accustomed to hanging out with each other. I think the same thing probably happened with the PXO crowd. So don't be afraid to make new friends (and new enemies) and come on down to Kali. I'm sure everyone will be welcomed and or despised!

Yeah, I have Kali as well... #180315 or something... but I can't use it at the moment without a proxy, and I haven't had access to one of those for 7-8 months.
I'm not the only one with that problem either... many people with NAT routers just can not use it, which is perhaps another reason they avoid it...

Maybe someone could post a Diagram on how to;
A) BEG Mom and Dad for the money (with the promise to stop using AOL)
B) GET a JOB (OMFG you aren't Serious)
C) Cut the neighbors lawn (OMG you mean WORK!!)
D) Collect Soda/Beer Cans and return them for DEPOSITS that's 400 Cans Folks (OMG, you mean Lurk at a party and sweep up the cans at the end of the NIGHT!)
It's $20, lifetime membership, NO ADS (Gheyspy)
OH and Avoid Netgear & D/Link Routers for any GAMING they have Serious NAT issues!

Kali
Well, actually I just had to reinstall Kali because it was the only way I could find a game. The cs tracker was down and so was planetdescent. And I can't figure out how to find a game using that irc thingy. Had a ★■◆● of a time just trying to input my nick until I stumbled across the newbie channel.

Merlin... we have all that stuff without Kali. Why do we need Kali?CDN_Merlin wrote:Kali =
play warez games without hassle.

Codger, IRC is for chat and not for finding games.Codger wrote:I can't figure out how to find a game using that irc thingy.

#1: You don't have to pay for Kali to use it.
#2: Most IRC Clients want you to pay too.
#3: No IRC Clients have built-in D3 game browsers.
#4: Kali was the heart of the Descent community way back when.
#5: Kali supports many other games, and has built-in game browsers for all of them.
#6: Did I mention there are no IRC clients with built-in game browsers?
I think that Kali is probably superior to MIRC for Descent chat.
Suncho, let's face it, through some Byzantine logic that nobody else understands, you keep coming up with these impractical, counter-intuitive ideas to "Save Descent 3". I applaud your good intentions, but keep in mind which road is paved with good intentions.
I don't claim to have the 'solution' to the problem, but I honestly think using Kali is a good idea. Yeah, there are some drawbacks for those who can't or won't purchase a (lifetime!) registration...But the chat and game browser functionality make Kali far superior to using the IRC network for chat.
