From what I remmember HijackThis atleast lists all the stuff that has been installed into IE so you can figure out what has hijacked your IE browser.

My mother's computer got hijacked by a german porn site a while ago and it took a long time to get it cleared up.

Adaware and Spybots (together) is better.
