back when i was just awee guy, i remember sailing to S. Africa, and we encountered a heavy lightening storm. it was really cool. im still not 100% on this - i cant really remember, but i am sure we were hit on the bow, on deck. i remember seeing sparks, tho. maybe it was just infront of the ship. also seen the water get several times which looked awesome!

How many times did you get hit and survive? Was Hanna there to photograph the whole thing for us?

Bah, you think thats a freak lightning storm Ace? Come over in my neck of the woods. Everytime a storm gets near during the summer, we get a HUGE lightshow. If the camera was capable of taking night shots, I'd take some and post them here.

Hell, I'll just take the video camera out and capture it to my computer.

Yes we did. We are living in Fairburn now and we got absolutely hammered. The whole house was shaking for at least a half hour. It freaked the hell out of the cats. Our 14 month old daughter slept through it though, so that was a bonus.

So how do you know there was at least 300?? are you even attempting to BS yourself now...we all know you were hiding in the closet

BTW this is a weekly occurance down in Jacksonville(and yes there are fools that count them for the weather channel) last one had 700-800 stikes in a 45 minute period. Of which I was driving through, Knocked out all the traffic lights and business power on the road I was on(fl drivers tehysuck)

Bubba

I lived in Florida for 7 years so I know about and have a healthy respect for what real thunderstorms can do. However, we just don't get them like that up here in Georgia. The one we had the other night was a good old fashioned Florida style thunderstorm. It was pretty cool.

Yeh earlier this year we was chasing the 'nados. We went out chasing one day, but didn't see any tornados, but we did get a hell of a lightning show after it was dark! I mean, it was non stop. NON-F8CKING-STOP! It was like those strobe lights and/or rave parties. We stodd there in that field, and we was like.... sheeyat.... dam that was so cool.... THE POWER! in that storm!? jesus christ that was awesome...

a couple days later we finally "saw" a tornado. but it was covered in rain and clouds so we didn't actually see it... but it passed us from about a mile away and the wind was SUPER strong. it would have blown my ass over if I didn't get back in the car.
