Computer freeze...here I thought I had it too!

After days of port openings and reinstall now this!

I get online, I can join a multiplayer game. The problem is after a few seconds to half a minute my computer freezes. The screen still shows the ship and the level but it will not respond. Any ideas? Normally I have to shut everything down to recover.

I hope this won't take another three days. For what it is worth I seem to be able to go through a level on single player, although it has frozen in that as well...it just seems to take longer.

I also have lines showing up on the main descent screen as it loads...the screen showing the planet and ship. I did not have these lines before.

Ideas?

David, it would really help that if you ever make a post describing an issue that you post your system specs. What you just posted doesn't really tell us a whole lot. We aren't psychic, and can't zip down the phone line at will to make it all better with the push of a button. We need detailed information to work with.

That is also a good discription of the load screen when antialiasing is enabled and you launch D3 in direct3d mode. Try switching to OpenGL.

Sounds like an older ATI card.
