Is Using a Mac Cheating?
The Mac has the following "features":
1. Instant turning for mouse users.
2. Locked at 7pps.

I'd also like to add that Macs cant hold down a fully charged fusion. they have to release it immediately when its charged or they will start 2 lose shields (where on a pc, you could hold it down 3 seconds after it fully charged). That makes it nearly impossible 2 aim a fully charged fusion for a mac user

I agree with Sarge. IT's not right to ban someone just because they have a mac, cause they bought D3 just like everyone else. On the other hand Mouselooking should deffinetly not exist because it's breaking the restrictions that every other D3 pilot has. So even if it's not really cheating it's still not cool.

On a PC, when your fusion overcharges, how much damage you take is framerate dependent. Since I have a fast computer, if I hold it down for a couple seconds, I'm dead from 100 shields. You can't hold down fusion after it's fully charged. I don't know what you're talking about.*Javed* wrote:I'd also like to add that Macs cant hold down a fully charged fusion. they have to release it immediately when its charged or they will start 2 lose shields (where on a pc, you could hold it down 3 seconds after it fully charged). You think Graphsim decided to give Mac players an advantage? I don't. I think it's a bug. The bug is exploited by using a mouse. Do I blame the players? Not really. If I only had a Mac, I might exploit this bug. But do I want Mac players in any of my games? Definitely not.SSC-Thunderbird wrote:Players are not responsible for a developer's decisions. GraphSim is the one to blame for these problems, not the Mac players.
Fully charged fusion is just before it starts to eat your shields not immediately after the sound becomes monotone
I gather what you meant is, either you cannot fully charge your fusion because it starts eating sheilds up the moment the sound becomes monotone OR your fusion actually fully charges faster than a PC does
If it's the later.. *cough* MACS ARE HACKS *cough*
On another note, there is a bug in d3 that lets you charge your fusion in less than a second I don't think it has been fixed in 1.5 either

Suncho, you're dumb as ice!
GraphSim decided to make the game the way they did, but they made it with that bug unintentionally. That's what he's saying.
Can't Mac users use Flight Sim mode for their mice?
Xeon, you should tell me what the bug is. ^_~
I think it does that when you run D3 at high fps using the ACPI Uniprocessor/Multiprocessor PC.

It's just Suncho's way of alienating more of the D3 community.
If a MAC player is playing at 7pps online, well that sucks for the mac player (most of firing packets will never get to the server). He has to work 50% harder to get a Kill. and to everyone else he looks like a 56k user....
If the MAC user is flying around is a Pheonix knowing about 7pps...THAT'S NOT RIGHT!
Oh well! My personal belief is a Mac user should use a MAC for what it was intended...GRAPHICS and have a PC for everthing else. I set my dad up with 2 pc's and 1 mac..he is a very happy camper

I used to be on the ladder (near the bottom, but hey), but I guess cheating was okay back then. I use keyboard anyway, so no mouselook-despite-mouselook-being-disabled action going on. 7pps, meh.
I never noticed any difference between doing D3 on my Mac and on my XP machine, so either there's nothing really wrong with the Mac code, or else I just suck. Or both.
