I know of Humus from the OpenGL developer's community and can verify that he knows what he is talking about.

What graphics settings/hardware you using? Did it change the way the game looked? In some screenies it seems to get darker with the tweak installed.

Card: Radeon 9800 Pro / 128 with Fullscreen Gamma set to 2.0
Dm3: Running 2nd highest setting with brightness turned all the way up.
No noticable difference in quality. If the brightness level changed any at all it became brighter for me. Its still dark as he|| though.
