Be a part of Birdseye's Summer Road Trip
Ok, so I had a keen idea after 5 days in oregon, meeting locals and staying with friends:
Go on a roadtrip across the country, and try to spend every night (if that's possible) with someone I know. I have some old friends and family sprinkled all over the USA, and I'd like to meet up with descent players too.
So whether you are 20 years old and can show me a good time around the bars or if you are 50 and can take me fishing or knitting (what do you old people do anyway?) and you can let me throw my sleeping on your floor, let me know! Probably just a night or two.
Please, send me an email if you are serious. I was thinking of starting out from Cali around the 9th, and making it to the chicago lan. Then I'd make my way back over to Oregon for that LAN ( of course stopping all along the way), and then go home.
So the tenative plan is me leaving on the 9th from Orinda, CA (near berkeley) and heading towards chicago until 13-15 which I'll be at the LAN. Unfortunately I don't think I can give people rides because I won't be going to any location twice.
After the chicago LAN I'll head towards oregon for the 27th/28th/29th oregon lan. I was thinking it would be nice to go through the middle/lower parts of the country on the way, and the middle/upper part on the way back, but things will probably shape up more based on who I can stay with.

On your way to the Oregon LAN after the Chicago LAN, stop by and stay with us in Seattle if you can. We won't even make you sleep on the floor -- we've got a couch ;)
For a fun time, we'll do math problems and write about epistemology. Er, I mean, uh... there's some nice parks around here, and there's plenty of opportunity to go kayaking or canoeing in Lake Washington or Puget Sound. There are also some cool things to see downtown like Experience Music Project and the SciFi museum.
Yeah, I know you said to send an e-mail... but I'm at school right now, away from my e-mail program. I'll send one later.

Brian, you would be most welcome to spend some time in the garden spot of the Midwest, Madison Wisconsin. You could spend some time here either before or after the Chi-Town LAN.
We could do some fishing, yea, but there's paintballin to do too! Plus the UW Campus has been highly rated as the most partying campus in the US. (I'm still trying to figure out if that's good or bad! LOL!)
Anyway, drop me a line, we can figure something out.

Solidair, I think Florida is probably a little too out of the way, but I do appreciate the invite!
Palz, watch out, I may just take you up on your offer en route to chicago. I have a friend in Tuscon, so in the grand drive of things austin is sorta on the way. About a day's drive- 10 hours from tuscon?
Sarge, I definitely could meet up with you, since wisconsin is pretty much on the way back.
Cops, you too--minnesota is close enough.
Is keekeek still in Iowa?
Scratch, the mazda died a couple years back (new transmission was worth more than the car). I drive a '95 civic DX now, 105K miles. Should be road-worthy.
Nexus, I may take you up. I need places to stay in the heart of the midwest on the way back.
