often the throttle is the problem jbomb. if you havent centered the throttle on axis detect, d3 will think the throttle is the first axis moved and assign it to the function you wanted to have the twist.
XP usually doesn't need any drivers for Sidewinder hardware. At least for my 3D Pro, it just detects a Sidewinder game controller and automatically sets it up. Digijo and Grendel are right, though; all of the Descent games can be real pains when trying to set up the twist vs. the throttle.
V4.0 is the latest -- only available on the disk that comes w/ the stick tho If you have an upload location I could send you the setup (~8MB). W/o the software the sensitivity is quite low and the deadzone huge..

What are you talking about, Ace? I'm referring to Microsoft's Sidewinder line, including the 3D Pro, Precision Pro 1 and 2, Force Feedback Pro, and gamepad. They were around long before the recent Logitech stick of the same name.
