I bought this drive and I bought Nero 6 to use as my DVD burning software. Nero doesn't recognize my drive as a DVD writer ...
Any idea what gives? So far am out $80 for the drive and $70 for Nero and I can't burn DVDs ...

either update nero, or return nero and use a different software. dvd decrypter, alcohol 120%, even easy CD & DVD creator will work. nero should recognize it with an update though i would imagine. i reccomend returning it anyway and using a version that i will give you.

What version is that? I can't return it, I paid for a serial number and downloaded the software.

bus mastering on?
I dunno, I use Nero6 99% of the time I use my drive and it works like a champ. Burned 3 DVDs tonight alone.

If youre using Nero Express (when it starts up you can choose express, its easier to use), then it'll ask you which recorder you want to use at the top. Make sure that DVD is selected and not CD-R.

Funny thing is that I researched the drive b4 I bought it and found that same spec. I bought v6.x which was supposed to support the drive but it didn't recognize the RW capability of the drive. That is ... until I installed the latest update.

At least hey are fast on the driver updates, I've had this happen often with newer drives.

Any y'all try to convert VHS tapes to DVD? I have some old movies I'd hate to lose.
