Best burning software?

I have Roxio 5 that came with my computer. I would like to get a more reliable software.

Any suggestions?

Nero's functionality can't be beat, but the interface looks like it was made in visual basic. At least nero 5 non-wizard stuff.

You should try wood soaked in gasoline. Burns quite well.

Nero wipes the floor with everything else I've tried. Roxio 5 is garbage compared to it.

Roxio 5? What, you living in the past? Even Maximum PC admitted Roxio 6 kicked the shiznit out of Nero!

Yeah, Roxio 6 defenately kicked the s*** out of Nero... at installing useless memory hogging tray icons and slowing down/destablizing the system more then two 24/7 virus scanners could. They also couldnt make it easy to burn a disk by simply checking "ISO DVD" and drag and drop the files.

And the Power Rec "feature"? Wow I have never seen so many buffer underruns on one disk in all the hundreds of disks that I have burned before. It took it 12 times longer to burn a disk then Nero, its a miracle the disk was even readable in the end, a tribute to buffer underrun protection.

The reason so many people prefer Nero is because it does not even attempt to intigrate itself into the operating system, it only burns disks, doesnt do anything else, and most importantly doesnt get in the way of anything else.

I gotta 2nd what Krom said ... I had horrible experiences with Roxio and since I have switched to Nero I have had no problems at all. What an excellent piece of software Nero is ...

And Nero is intuitive. It does what you ask of it and nothing more. On the mediocre Roxio 5, one can't even burn ISOs to a disk. It is also crashy and remarkably unstable. Like I said, a piece of garbage.

I've been using Nero ever since my 2x0x4x CDR drive from Mitsumi. Nero was some underground little program that would allow to circumvent primitive copy protections at the time. It would overburn and perform other magic stuff.

I was forced to upgrade to Nero 6.3 when I installed this DVD+/-RW/RAM drive, and it's still the same except for the flashy Windows-XP wanna be icons and stuff.
