"I'm not sure if sitting in the corner screaming like a prepubescent monkey qualifies as help...but it was kind of funny."--Sarge :P

That video might be a telling sign that you need to seek professional help.

Its gotta be acting... how the ★■◆● are you supposed to kill you some zombies if your hand is off the keyboard and youre screaming? (And the only funny part was the slow-mo replays :P)

HAL9000 made a remake of Doom2 map01 that you single-player fans may want to check out.

The Doom 3 developers should be ecstatic, you can't buy publicity like that!
Or at least it's an enlightening look at the IQ level of your average Doom 3 player. ;)
I was very disapointed that the cheatcodes for this game weren't IDKFA, IDDQD and IDNOCLIP. Maybe when they redo Doom2

Technically there are no cheatcodes; the "cheatcodes" are just console commands. Try typing the original cheat codes into the console. :)

Speaking of cheats ...

I cannot kill the cyberdemon to save my life. What is the trick? I even went to God mode, took all weaps, and pelted him with a full salvo of BFG/Rockets/Plasma to no avail. I hit him in the head, the @$$, the crotch, the feet, the belly ... everywhere and he will not die. He||, I even went into noclip mode and sat over his head and emptied three full sets of BFG on him. Someone help me out here ...

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that the last guy? The big Diablo looking character? Three soul cubes will do it. Keep running around the center to avoid his rockets and to make Imps & demons keep respawning to kill and recharge you sould cube with. Either three or four sould cubes take him down. A little bit anti-climatic really. Cool out-video tho.
According to one walkthrough I read, the only way to kill it is with Soul Cubes.
[edit] Damn, ya beat me. :P There are [ spoiler ] tags now so that you don't have to worry about it. :D [/edit]

Doom 3 gets better as soon as you get out of the Alpha labs. In the beginning its pritty much ho-hum monster jumps out and empty your shotgun at him. But once you get into it, it really starts to get a bit more atmospheric. But I think they could have made the gameplay better. Or even used EAX. Oh well, its a shoot-em-up, and its playing that role well so far of being a re-invented wheel.

[edit] This sums up my opinion nicely.

Does sending the transmittion or not sending the transmittion have any effect on the end of the game?

No duper it doesn't.
It just dictates who contacts your a few seconds later to go to the monorail.

The game was ok.
I really didn't find it very scary.
After the 3rd "monster outta da wall" pop I came to expect it.

System Shock 2 was the only game to actually scare me that I've played before.

The Resident Evil games come in a slightly distant 2nd.

D1 single player on insane is far more scarey then doom3. When every once in a while a robot moves when they normally dont and a class one driller suddenly appears behind some door or around a corner where they shouldnt be.

It just wasnt that scarey to me. Oh yeah, sending or not sending the transmission makes almost no difference, just one little video is changed, thats it. Where you go and what you do remains exactly the same.

Thanks for the spoiler ... I am working on killing him.

I really like the game and enjoyed it thoroughly. I never quit getting the chit scared outta me ... first video game to make the hair stand up on my head.

On major gripe though ... Once you exit Delta 4 and go to hell you loose the flashlight. Now I don't know what effect that has on you nVidia guys but on my 9800 pro that makes it almost completely unplayable. I up my monitor gamma to 2.0, increase the brightness in-game and I cannot make out anything in the darkness. Even if i cheat and get the flashlight I can still barely resolve anything in the scenes.

Shhh... its a secret. Console in "r_gamma [#num]"

r_gamma 1.4 will make things bright enough in all but the completely black areas, 1.6 is cheating but handy if you are completely fed up with the darkness.

Ya, the darkness they did just pissed me off.
I understand that it can get pretty dark, but the way things played out is just unrealistic (as far as lighting).

And ya krom, D1 scared me plenty when I played it for the first time.
Especially the lvl 7 boss... O_O
