Why the games industry is suffering

Post by Top Wop »

Its pricks like this guy who shoves crap down people's throat. Thank god he left Eidos, but the damage has already been done. I hope someone who took over his position will undo the changes he made.
We're a company concerned with intellectual property now. We're trying to move in different directions and capitalize on cultural trends. For instance, the hip-hop and online gaming crazes... (empathise my own) we want to stay up on them. We're also big on edgy, inspirational titles [like] Hitman and Thief.

A lot of times, we liked to believe that the developers on certain projects knew what they were doing. But a lot of time you need real business people in control.

No wonder Eidos has been going down the tube!

Actually, my theory on why the gaming industry is failing is that they are trying to do too much with too high of budgets to be able to make a really good profit. Honestly, I think if developers slacked off on the graphics some (or maybe even alot) and made games stinkin addictive, like they used to be, they would be able to start making alot of money again.

Word. I played the demo of 'yoo tee: two kay three' about 5 minutes before i got sick of the game, and I played starscape every day, all day for about 2 weeks. Image is nothing as far as I'm concerned, And anyone who says otherwise can suck my tubesteak.

One of the most addicting games I've played to date is Marble Blast Gold by Garage Games. I believe a link to it was posted here a while back, but this game is insanely fun. Marble Madness on amphetamines. Try it. You'll like it.

I was really into an old DOS game Master of Orion. I played that for a full straight month. The gameplay was superb. Now if only they could update that to todays tech. Nope, no games involving the brain here these days.
