Need new J/S

Post by Dedman »

My Logitech Freedom 2.4 has finally given up the ghost. I re-soldered the hat micros and then a week later the entire hat pulled right out of the grip. Screw it! This thing needs more regular repair work than a Ford.

Can anyone recommend a good stick for D3 that is around $30? I don't have time to play much these days so I really can't justify buying a pricey stick.

Your help is appreciated.

Get a Precision 2 off of Ebay.

[Edit]Here's a nice stick. "Buy it now" for 30 bucks. Image[/edit]

Don't buy that thing -- 1. it has a fan built in that is louder than a nV5800 vacuum, 2. "This is NOT a USB connection. It plugs into your game port" ! Also, because of a bug in D3 the M$ FF sticks will go limb as soon you start the game (hm, in that case you can unhook the fan Image). If you want center spring action don't buy a FF stick.

Dont know about the bug. I've seen guys using this stick before. The Gameport Sidewinder I had came with a USB-Gameport adapter.

What's wrong with plugging into the gameport anyway?

Nothing exept that it's a legacy port and going to vanish soon. And yes, ppl use the FF sticks (Suncho eg.) but you should be aware of its floppieness..

Yeah, I need a USB stick. I have no game port. Plus I am not a big fan of FF in a stick. My racing wheel is a different matter, but a stick should be FF free.

as for having a sturdy hat switch, you can do it the way i enhanced mine, although you don't really need to take it to the extreme (the brass sockets).

It loosens up quite a bit over time. I went back to my 1st 2.4 to test a possible fix for the jerking problem and was taken back by it's strong spring (compared to my 2nd 2.4 I's using the last 5 months)

I've used 2 FF sticks with D3, both had NO problems at all and were very customisable...

One was a logitech extreme (I think) and the other was an MS SideWinder FF Pro 2.
