Gmail notifier

Post by Grendel »

Some may have missed the Gmail helper.

"The Gmail Notifier is a downloadable Windows application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages. It displays an icon in your system tray to let you know if you have unread Gmail messages, and shows you their subjects, senders and snippets, all without your having to open a web browser."

We're currently only offering Gmail as part of a preview release and limited test. We don't have details on when Gmail will be made more widely available, as that depends in part on the results of the test. If you're interested in receiving updates on Gmail, submit your email address using the form at the bottom of this page. And you can check out a sneak peek of Gmail here.

Ask a friend. There's about 40 billion people using it right now. It doesn't seem to be on a "preview" basis, just an "on invitation" basis.

GMail users get invites that they can give to people so they can then sign up. There's always announcements about those, and they're not exactly rare. You can even usually buy an invite usage on eBay for $1 or something.

I may sign up when (if) it goes "open", but until then, I'm fine with my 250MB Hotmail account (seems like not everyone has more than the base 2MB, my secondary account and wife's account are still down at 2MB for some reason).

Hotmail's planning to offer 2 GB of space. Not that it means much, since nobody will ever use that much.

Yeah, but who in their right mind would pay for Hotmail? I think it's decent as a free webmail service, but to pay $20 every month for it? No thanks. ;)

I'm just glad to be one of the lucky ones who have already gotten the free 250MB upgrade. 8)

Gmail is tons cleaner then hotmail. If not switch for the space switch cuz you dont have 10 advertising banners on every page.

I likes Gmail but considering paying for yahoo 2GB adless service cuz I like there email service better and had it longer.
Whats so great bout Yahoo?
Well I actually use the notepad and calendar and have it setup to remind me about all kinds of events. So I find it a bit more useful.
