Audigy 2 ZS
Audigy 2 ZS
Is anyone running this card? I'm currently using the onboard sound on my Abit AI7 and I'm growing tired of the pops and clicks I get in certain games. Its quite annoying.
Also, I had a Live 5.1! installed, but for whatever reason it didn't function properly under games using EAX or EAX2. Elite Force 2 and the Far Cry demo for example. I wish Creative would update the drivers for it. I'm pretty sure thats the problem.
In any case, I'm considering purchasing an Audigy2 ZS to replace both of them and just be done with this problem once and for all. Anyone have any comments?

Couldn't open the thread to post in it! Was frustrating as hell!
Yep Santa Cruz is great - but pretty budget. I recently built a box with an Audigy 2 ZS in it (Not the model with the external box - just the PCI card) - and I have to admit that the 2 ZS does kick some serious Butt indeed!
Here the price is around $180 for the standard item - and if you have that much to spend then it's a great card. But if you just want a good reliable 5.1 card which performs beautifully for USD 50$ then the Santa Cruz is your card.

I figured Mobi would chime in about the Santa Cruz. I looked at it, but I would rather go with guarenteed compatibility. I went ahead and picked up an Audigy 2 ZS from CompUsa. I found that deal shortly after making my original post yesterday morning. I got the card installed and running and everything is working perfectly. The sound quality is much better than the onboard sound, much much better in fact.
