Rollerblade parts

Post by CDN_Merlin »

I lost the screw and washer that goes on my brake wheel. I've looked on the net at a few places that "Rollerblade" has in their FAQ but just wanted to know if anyone uses someplace else?

Provide link please.

I wouldn't worry about brakes- your wheels work just as well- use the "wedge" method or just don't go down long, steep hills- eventually you will want to be good enough on them to be able to stop by turning... It's really not that hard if you practice a little, and have someone around who knows how to skate. I learned by playin roller hockey with the floor- fences stop you pretty well without any damage being done.... So, I'm giving you another vote for scratching the brakes.

(if you insist, I would just go to the local hardware store a buy a comperable hex bolt/pair of washers/nut.

I know how to skate and since I skate in traffic (streets) and on local bike path, I have to have brakes to stop suddenly.

I didn't figure the hardware store would have this kind of nut/boly combo specially since there is a custom washer just for the brake wheel.

Thanks, I'll be close to one tomorrow so I'll stop off and see if they have the parts.

I left the brake off mine. I can stop faster without it and I don't run the risk of breaking my wrist again because the brake catches on stuff while I'm trying to jump.
