A day or so ago, my system started working on this
really, really huge protein . At least, that's what the picture looks like.
I laughed out loud when I saw it! Is this just something that happens from time to time or what?

well, if you normally run the graphical client, you'll notice that most of your proteins tend to fit very nicely in the little window. Here she has one that so totally overwhelmed the window that you couldn't make out any semblance of structure.

No. A desktop a piece. Nearly identical, though mine has more RAM and his has a faster CPU.
