I am a low life scum, plz forgive me ...
I take my work to work and back to home on a 120Gb removable drive. Well last night, I shut down my dualie, pulled the drive, put it in my briefcase, and took it home.
To my HORROR this morning when I arrived back to work I found my dualie TURNED OFF! I lost a good 14 hours of 4 processes ...

You act as if it were important.
What you don't realize is that everyone from time to time will not be able to run the software. In fact, I expect that I will stop running it some time soon as I cannot support overheating my CPU all the time. When I get a program that requires alot of processing that I actually benefit from, this simulation will have to take a back seat.
Climbing up the rungs of this "competition" for no reward, is about equivalent to playing an online role playing game trying to gain levels and keep up with your peers. Only this has a tiny scientific academic value. And we're donating our processors for zero return.

I dunno about you, but if my idle CPU cycles can help cure cancer or alzhiemers or whatever, I'll feel pretty good about myself.
Plus, when winter gets here, I'll easily be able to afford the extra heat generated. This dorm is supposed to get quite cold in the winter, so the more heat, the better for me!

Pretty much. The immediate payoff isnt there, but in case you forgot this does go toward a good cause.Avder wrote:I dunno about you, but if my idle CPU cycles can help cure cancer or alzhiemers or whatever, I'll feel pretty good about myself.
