Wal-Mart wine

Post by Dedman »

Some Walmart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item: Walmart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5 range. The top 12 suggested names for Walmart Wine:

12. Chateau Traileur Park

11. White Trashfindel

10. Big Red Gulp

9. Grape Expectations

8. Domaine Wal-Mart "Merde du Pays"

7. Nascarbernet

6. Chef Boyardeaux

5. Peanut Noir

4. Chateau des Moines

3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

2. World Championship Riesling

And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine ......
1. Nasti Spumante

I'll take a case of Chateau Traileur Park. Got a crawl space wine cellar under mine. :D

I didn't know there was a winery in Modesto. That probably means the wine will suck, since I can't see that being the best climate for grapes. All the good stuff is right down the road from my house. :P

Not that I'm saying Walmart would be a seller of fine wine anyways...

After having lived in the valley for more than 2 decades, I can say that I agree with Modesto not being the best "wine country", but I can't I say that anything I've had by E&J G has been better than "fair." Should be a good supplier of Wal-Mart varieties. :) The only thing close to them would be Bartles & Jaymes (sp?), which we refer to in the Valley as "Dos Okies"; if you remember the two old guys in the commercials, you'll understand. I vote for a few more names: Gran Tornadeau, Chateau Ripple, Chateau neuf du bird dog. :P
