24, wow, he still barely looks 13. I still think being arrested for possession of a recreational drug is stupid, particularly when the cop's time should be better spent pursuing real criminals, but there's already a thread on that.

i think we all need to come to grips with the harsh reality that marijuana kills and to even CONTEMPLATE smoking it is comparable to suicide!!!

Not to point out the obvious, but he IS learning the hard way. The automobile in which he was a passenger was being driven in an erratic and dangerous manner. That is probable cause people. The police where doing exactly what we pay them to do. Removing possible threats to our safety. That is their job. Anything less is dereliction of duty.

would mj really have made the driver erratic? generally it makes you slow down and be extra careful, not drive 10mph over the limit.

(trivial note: if the driver is ALSO on alcohol, that is generally not mentioned in the news, leaving you to blame mj like a good citizen *pat pat*)

It doesn't matter what caused the driver to speed nor whether or not marijuana should be legalized. The point is that the drivers actions gave the police probable cause to search that vehicle. Controlled and illegal substances where found. The law was broken. If you break the law, be prepared to pay the price.
