I was able to dial in on Mandrake 9.1 once before with the same serial Creative modem, DE5621. However I used the dialer from both Suse and KDE and I am unable to browse the net.
It dials in, I see it working, but when the sqwack completes my OS and its programs cant use it. So I hang up.
I read the log and it says something that PPP isnt enabled. How do I enable it? I never had to do that before!

I checked the ISP website, and all it has is instructions for Red Hat 5.2. Their dialer is different and offers the PPP option while in both of the other dialers there is no way IF its using PPP at all. So im going to restart now and try one more time with the instructions.
Are you trying this as root? I have noticed that suse has a lot of things locked down for normal users by default. Does your user have permission to use the device?
