Wal-Mart wine
Some Walmart customers soon will be able to sample a new discount item: Walmart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of Modesto, California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5 range. After having lived in the valley for more than 2 decades, I can say that I agree with Modesto not being the best "wine country", but I can't I say that anything I've had by E&J G has been better than "fair." Should be a good supplier of Wal-Mart varieties. The only thing close to them would be Bartles & Jaymes (sp?), which we refer to in the Valley as "Dos Okies"; if you remember the two old guys in the commercials, you'll understand. I vote for a few more names: Gran Tornadeau, Chateau Ripple, Chateau neuf du bird dog.
