Descent Info for the masses

Post by Trackball »

Due to the lack of information on the internet regarding the holy Descent trilogy, I have compiled my own FAQ/Walkthrough for continued Descent gaming.

While it contains mostly common knowledge, it also gives instructions on how to play D1/D2 online without Kali. The PD soupe was incorrect.

Cool stuff, Trackball :). I've been (slowly :P) working on a D3 Beginner's Manual that helps people set up D3 and play online. It needs a lot of editing, but when it's done, I hope to get it incorporated into PD :).

I do believe there's one flaw with the part you mention about UDP/IP, though I've not tried this myself. I've been told that due to the way it works (using multicast UDP), that it can't be used over the Internet.

Actually it can. I played several games over the internet last week.
