Credit Cards with cashback

Post by Birdseye »

I'm looking for a credit card that will give cashback for purchases. I need a spending limit around 10,000. Looking for Visa or Mastercard.

I have to make a $7000 purchase soon and it would be nice to get some cashback. I have a paypal debit card that gives cashback, but the 1 day spending limit is $3000.

Isn't credit card debt like 18% interest? Or are you gonna freeload it and pay prior to 20th of the month following?

USAA has one, don't know if you have to be military or not to get it but it's worth a shot. They take good care of me on auto financing and insurance....great company.

Most credit card companies' cashback rewards are specific to merchants or types of merchants, it'd help if you said what kind of purchase this $7000 is for.

Regardless, based on the credit card offers I get in the mail, Discover routinely has the best cashback rewards. I know it's not one of the cards you want, but it seems worth a shot. Or Chase Platinum, it offers MasterCard.

CapitalOne Platinum Visa's card is on the TV ads all the time but I know nothing about it...

And of course there are various cards out there that don't give CASH back, but travel points (1 mile per dollar), which is kinda cool too. I have a friend who has an MBNA World Points MasterCard which lets her use miles on any airline.

I have one- the main problem is they will probably start you at a horribly low minimum balance. They do cash advances- I don't know about cash back, but you can stick em in an ATM and get cash out.

Try 24% in more and more cases, Mobi.

yeah, the cash back is kind of a scam, unless you're gonna spend it at one of their approved merchants. Alternatively, I bet you could rack up a hell of a lot of frequent flyer miles with 7K. Grab a Southwest or an ATA card. :)
