New D3 graphical problems.

Post by Mr. Perfect »

I fired up D3 for the first time in who-knows-how-long today, and was presented with menus that are all shcruched up. Like so:

I've tried reinstalling D3, but without any luck. I don't rember ever seeing this before. I'm running an 8500 LE with the 4.8 Omegas on Windows 2000 and DirectX 9c. This curruption only happens under Direct3D, not OpenGL, but I've found that Direct3D provides a crisper picture. Any ideas on how to fix this(other then running OpenGL)?

Maybe something is wrong with your video card drivers or directx? Try reinstalling them?

Nope, everything's at stock speeds.

I'm sure it's some sort of driver thing, but none of my other DirectX games have problems. Do the 4.8s break D3 or something?

D3 is supposed to be more stable in OpenGL, so you're probably better off running under it anyway.

open gl

Post by World War Woodi »

I had this same problem with mine and found that the latest drivers and open gl fixed it, I am running a weak chip set though not a card. The open gl seems to run fine though.

Waiting for upgrade :x because I know the graphics are better than I am seeing.

If you can't bear to use OpenGL then switch back to Catalyst 3.8

So the 3.8 cats are the newest drivers D3 works with in Direct3D? That's quite a few bugs ago...
