backlit keyboard

Post by ReadyMan »

A while back we had some discussions about backlit keyboards....there was only one out and it was a cut down size of a normal keyboard (no number pad etc).

this above keyboard is pretty cool. I bought one at Best Buy for $49. It's STURDY and quiet.
I dont know if I like the left hand keypad thing...its a lot like the nostromo keypad/wheel n52 (I forget exactly). I bought one of those a while back and never even used it (another good reason why NOT to buy at compusa if you can get it at Best Buy or Circuit City).

Anyway, this KB is awesome.
hope this helps someone.

I've been looking for a backlit keyboard for awhile now, and this one matches my Silver/blue theme.

Do the characters on the keyboard light up?

Doesn't look like it Jmeat.

The rest pad looks kinda funky; the buldges are a bit "off center".

no the characters dont light up. It looks like they have a couple of lights under the kb and a blue membrane or something that splashes the color across the kb.
the palm rest is kinda funky, thin plastic. I never use them.

Interestingly, the keys are a bit stiff, making for a solid stroke for each key. This kinda slows down my typing when I'm flying, but should be awesome for gaming.

The extra keypad is cool, but....its pretty much like the nostromo device, in that to get more functions, you really need to use the 2 shift keys. I cant be bothered with that...the kb itself has so many keys within reaching distance that it's hard to have that many options with any other device.

However, I might use it for control groups in RTS games...dunno atm.
