Looks like this is one helluva bang per buck core. Only shame is, no X86-64 enabled on it. Oh well, maybe I'll just get an A64 3000+ instead, they're only $30 more over here.

No - not miniscule: Socket 939 offers dual channel memory. Socket 754 is single channel. The bandwidth of the Socket 754 models is lower than that of a dual channel solution, but the on-die memory controller and very fast HyperTransport system bus make up for it to some degree.
Definitely nothing wrong with a socket 754 system.
