Trouble registering? Emails not showing up?

Hey, please let me know if you don't get a confirmation email or some other email function of the DBB isn't working. I've gotten a couple people saying they never recieved the activation code. So...if that's the case I'll bug Xciter/Sickone to bug the server guys.

I can activate your accounts manually if you don't get the link, I'm on AIM 25 hours a day at TopherTheGreat2

I have noticed that spam filters tend to sometimes nuke phpbb emails. I admin 4 phpbbs and I've seen emails simply vanish on all of them. Some have direct sendmail support, others use a SMTP server, nothing seems to make a difference.

Tho on one, someone commented they didnt get the email and when I checked their email address they had typed it wrong.

"The dbbmailer account filled it's quota of 30megs so it couldn't send any more emails I'm assuming. I cleared the inbox (filled with bounced emails) and raised the quota to 100 megs. It should be working now. " - Xciter

Now that u mention it, I haven't been getting emails of new posts at strings I have posted comments on.

Why Haven't I been getting these? I have it checkmarked for dbb to let me know of new posts, but nutin haps. Hope some1 can fix.

maybe you should ask them to check their junk mail folders, if they have any.

I appreciate the suggestion T-bird, but my email app that I use to thin out the junk mail does *not* have dbb in it's block list, and the message filter hasn't move dbb emails from inbox to the dedicated folder in my browser. I have the proper bullets check marked for emails telling me of new PMs and posts after I have posted in my dbb profile, but still nada. Also have the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box checked at every post that I make.

Ok, I sent Xciter another PM about it. I haven't recieved any emails notifying me about new private messages so I think something is still wrong. If someone can't register please email/PM their email address to me and I'll take care of it.

When I administered the Megaman BB, which was a phpBB, I had nothing but trouble with the auto-response system. People would constantly e-mail me asking for their passwords because they never received them. But, likewise, a lot of people registered just fine. The feature proved to be nothing but trouble, so I eventually disabled it.

I'm still surprised we have it, but that's another thread.

Truth be told, it wouldn't suprise me if we did get blacklisted. Mike Wong's BBS (bbs.stardestroyer.net) got blacklisted by AOL because one idiot complained about Mike and how he "used harsh language" when he acted like a stupid troll on the board. To this day, the entire stardestroyer.net domain is still banned by AOL's e-mail system because of their inept employees and their anal retentive rules.
