I doubt many of you are NASCAR fans but I thought I would post this for those of us that are. Link
Tis a sad day for racing fans
MARTINSVILLE, Va. â?? A plane owned by the Hendrick Motorsports organization crashed on its way to a NASCAR race Sunday and all 10 aboard were killed, federal officials said.
Eight passengers and two pilots died in the crash, a spokesman with the National Transportation Safety Board said.
A spokesman for a funeral home where the bodies were being taken said the dead included four relatives of team owner Rick Hendrick â?? his son, his brother and twin nieces.
Harry Litten, manager of Moody Funeral Service in Stuart, said the state police had given him this list of those on the Beech 200:
Ricky Hendrick, Rick Hendrick's son and also a retired NASCAR driver; John Hendrick, Rick Hendrick's brother and president of the organization; Kimberly and Jennifer Hendrick, John Hendrick's twin daughters; Joe Jackson; Jeff Turner; Randy Dorton, the team's chief engine builder; Scott Latham, a pilot for NASCAR driver Tony Stewart; and pilots Dick Tracy and Liz Morrison.
I would be VERY surprised if they pulled out... two of their drivers are in the top 5 in points, and both have a shot at winning the title. Aint gonna happen.

I would.
If part of my team died, I know that they would want me to continue onward to try to win. I wouldn't give up to mourn. They wouldn't have wanted it that way in the living, so why would they in death?
What a horrible tragedy. Martinsville is only a few hours from my house, and I've been to that race track before. I had no idea it was used by NASCAR until my co workers pointed it out. (Yeah its on the banners ) I don't watch racing.
