Post by Dedman »

This is a split off from roids post in this thread

I googled it and this is what I found. Funny.

My fave:
Your tailpipe extension fell off during a quarter mile race and you went three tenths of a second faster due to weight savings.

You spent $5,000 on the engine and you can not out run a stock Camaro, Firebird, or Mustang
So true.

They left out the Bonneville SSEI. :P

Wait, there's more domestic rice than imported? Not where I'm from, at least. :P I've never seen a single domestic riced car, but in my college town, there's at least ten people driving imported rice-crap at any given time of day. :P

All the rice you need...

Your four cylinder has a dual exhaust system installed.
This simply is not true, the stock Lotus Elise is a four cylinder with stock dual exhaust, hardly a ricer's car.

But how often does a dual exhuast on a 4 banger provide enough of a performance gain to justify the extra wieght?

The Dodge SRT4 has a dual exhaust system, but to offset the extra weight they removed the mufflers. Gotta love it.

it's a lotus:

Leave
Out
The
Un-necessary
Stuff

Weighing it at under a ton, I'm sure they figured that adding the 2nd exhaust would not affect the performance.

The only riced cars that I've seen have been domestic (unless you don't call American cars that were made in Mexico domestic). In fact, my friend bought a Dodge Neon for $3800, and has spent probably twice that amount ricing it up.

You couldn't afford headlight masking, so you just painted them with flat black Krylon and it's peeling. Badly.

My uncle restores old ass cars and has a Plymouth Daytona Superbird. I saw that thing and couldn't stop laffing. But, I guess, that's what was 'big' at the time. Not to mention, that machine is worth major bucks now. =) And all this time, a superbird was something I got at Denny's. Hrmmm.

Btw, that Superbird is fast as ★■◆●. Kinda like the red Barchetta.

That Superbird came out just when the auto companies started realizing what aerodynamics were. The simple reason the rear wing is up so high is so that they could open the trunk. (Later they figured out that you could mount the wing to the trunk itself, allowing a more realistic height)

I was at the Chrysler Nationals this year in Carlisle and the average selling price of a Superbird/Daytona was $125k. Like Clutch said it was all about areodynamics, Chysler built them to run in the NASCAS series, but they owned everyone so bad that NASCAR ended up making the car illegal.

If it's a Plymouth it's built on the Road Runner body that's how they got the name "Superbird". The Daytona was built on the Dodge Charger body and was called the "Daytona Charger". Both cars use the same chassis and most of the body parts are the same. The only real difference betweeen the two cars is the badging.

Now that I've filled your head with useless information, I'll let you get back on topic :)

If you have ever driven a V8 car you have probably seen one of these knuckleheads trying to get you to race...

Funny thing is that the ricers think they win most of the time because their car is soooo fast. Fact is that 99% of the time the Real car's driver is incapacitated by uncontrollable laughter. This laughter is doubled for each occupant riding in the Real car, which often results in the Real car having to pull over before proper control of the vehicle is lost.

OK, but we're talking about ricers here. AKA, Honda Civics, Hyunday whatevers, Dodge Neons, etc, etc.

any car that outhandles ferrari's and lamborgini's but only cost $41,000 gets the thumbs up for me. And i'm so glad i'm not a ricer, i drive an import, but i think of a turbo as a mod not goofy lights as a mod ;)

But you guys think of those goofy fan lights in your puter as a mod? :D

Same thing. I just do not mod for the purpose of speed.

My car tops out at 80 mph. I do not go around racing anyone or speeding around any corners.

I have fun with my car even though it is stupid looking. :D

You have no idea how much it pisses me off when i see a ricer, and in the passanger seat is his HOT ASS girlfriend. I'm sitting there thinkin, you know, if i had altezza's, an ugly, non functional wing, and some some neons, i'd get a girl that hot. But no, i have a turbo, Greddy Type S BOV, MacPherson struts, and a 14.9 timeslip. But not it doesn't look stupid so i don't get the girls [/rant]

What will get their attention the most is if your car is actually clean. :)

However, some girls do seem to think my car is cool. Have had some compliments. I keep telling them that it is slow as cold tar. Then I tell them why I did it and joke with them about it. Makes a nice Ice breaker. :)

However, I'm now out of high school mode and ready to ditch the stripes for a real girl. :)

Zero, those are the girls you don't want.

Poor Lobber, totally lost, eh? Every moron female in this country will date a guy for his car, and dump him just as fast to date the other guy that has a slightly 'better' car. These women usually end up in trailer homes with several children.
