Why? Because before the Gamecube came out it was being touted as the means in which Nintendo would get back on top from within the company. Sony's contract was up with Capcom as far as RE went and Nintendo swooped in and offered them a huge deal. $$$ theres your money...fast forward a bit and the PS2 and Xbox are still the most popular consoles. Go figure...Kyouryuu wrote:Why would a group of greedy bastards develop a title exclusively for the least popular system in the US? Man, those blokes at Capcom sure are greedy!
I don't know why some of you think those games wouldn't have looked very good on the PS2. Silent Hill 3 and 4 look relatively close and you don't hear anyone complaining about those games.
Anyways its probably just as much Sony's fault for not making a new deal before the contract ran out as it is Capcom's fault for not wanting to continue developing the main RE series on the PS2.
I just hate it when you get a system looking forward to continuations of your favorite games and other new ones coming out and then you find out they're developing for another console only. Still doesn't matter, Sony still has more titles that are better in the long run.
I never said I bought it for a 'single' series. Also one of the only reasons the DC got Code Veronica was because it was technically the first 'next gen' console before it finally got discontinued based on the competition and revenue loss.fliptw wrote:One shouldn't buy systems because of a single series...
And, the DC did get Code Veronica First.
Another reason I'm sure is because Capcom's contract with Sony didn't specifically mention ownership of offshoots of the series, which Code Veronica was. Even though it was a continuation from RE2. It isn't like I'm the only one who has ever bought a console because of all the cool new games for it just to find out a few of the titles that I looked forward to were cancelled on that platform. Resident Evil 4 just happend to be ONE game where this applies.
Personally I wish every title was developed for every platform, but the technologies and the competition from businesses don't allow this to happen. Thats really all I'm saying.
