Thunderbird and AF

Post by DarkFlameWolf »

I heard Darkhorse sent off the final version of Apocalyptic Factor to you. Please upload it for people, because I'm dying to play the final, finished version. Thanks!

Lets cross our fingers I guess.

I think this belongs to Descent Old Skool. Because it is a Descent 2 Campaign by DH

stop renting a mod DF, this belongs here. Because I'm spotlighting Apocalyptic Factor for those who have never heard of this mission. And I'm also notifying Thunderbird that he should get his booty in gear and deliver this awesome mission to us players. :)

It's already available, technically... just not a working version.

According to TBird, he's already uploaded the level to PD. This is the version that's up there now; check and see if that's the one you're talking about.

And you are right, it is.

I was relying too much on the byte count posted there, rather than checking the contents. :) It does mean the count is slightly off though; it's currently 1,597,166 bytes as opposed to 1,645,099 bytes (which is what is posted there).

The reason it's actually smaller is probably because one of the models has (unnoticeably) less complexity because it was previously causing problems... about 185 poly down to 120 now. (Spheres.)

Maybe a few other factors such as altered geometry in some levels and perhaps advances in compression technology... :)

Yeah, those byte counts have to be manually updated. Unfortunately, we don't have the D1 and D2 level archives in a dynamic format, like we do with the D3 archive, so I can't go in and change it myself.
