Slaughter House Five

No, not Kurt Vonneguts esteemed novel, but Falluja. Some say going into Falluja will not accomplish anything. Au contrair. For one the execution chambers will be eliminated. Now before you knee jerk a reply, understand this. For the coordinated attacks by the terrorists to occur, they (terrorists) need a base of operations. A safe place where materials can be stored, communications can be directed and some comfy to come back to after a hard day of killing innocent human beings.
Sure they can move to another city, but the local population won't be quite the same. Since the terrorists have killed so many Iraqi's, chances are a relative might be living there who will not have a problem dropping a dime on them. If the insurgents are foreign, how they speak may arouse suspicions about them as will their actions as they move about. Lastly, the body count in Falluja is right around 600 terrorists dead. So even if the leadership escapes leaving their followers holding the bag of crumb cakes, how easy will they now be able to recruit? Understanding that many of the Iraqi's are ignorant, I don't think they are necessarily stupid enough to follow people who bug out when the going gets tough and expects them to die so their leaders can reap the glory. I even suspect the families of the slain followers will not be recieving any compensation for their "heroic" deaths.
