Spykiller = No Ethernet?

Post by Capm »

I came across an interesting problem today. This gal's PC had some spyware on it - and so she ran spykiller, cleaned up a bunch of stuff, rebooted, and all the sudden, her nic won't connect to the cable modem. It detects that it is connected - but won't renew IP (gives itself default local). I've tried everything short of putting another network card in the system - I'm sure its a software problem (cable modem works fine, plugged in laptop to be sure).. tried reinstalling drivers, settings are all right, etc...

I'm thinking spykiller has something to do with it, anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?
