about time a chipset worth a damn came out for intel - maybe I'll start building intel systems again.

Maybe it's just me, but what's wrong with
Intel chipsets?

The Intel chipset was a large reason why I bought a P4.

They don't overclock very well IIRC. (Then again, they're not made to be great overclockers, just to run the rig as stable as possible.)
At any rate, good for nVidia for getting on the intel side as well. The intel fanboys get to see why the nforce line is so great on the AMD side.

And I doubt Nvidia will spend much time working on preventing overclocking like Intel has, so these should be a big hit for the overclockers out there.

That mostly depends on the motherboard manufacturer. Abit boards generally have good overclocking capabilities. Hell Iwill has really good Xeon overclocking boards based on the intel e7505 (iirc) chipset.

yea I have to agree, I have 3 845 based mobos and they all overclock very well.
P4 chipsets just seem limp in performance. Or it's the P4s themselves.... I hold my judgement till I get my hands on one of these and slap one of these chips on it

P4s have deep pipelines, so they really need the ability to get stuff from main memory quickly.
