This day has been set aside as a day for thanks where we, as a nation, remember what we are thankful for.
I would, first, like to thank those who serve, whether they be in Iraq, Afganistan, Korea or somewhere else around this world. For, without them, what would be the state of this world? I know that some of them will have their celabratory dinners, but they will be lacking in something. That would be the absense of family and friends. So, let us all take a moment to thank them.
My immediate family is fragmented. My wife and I have been separated for some years and my children are off doing their thing. We rarely communicate. But, thanks to my girlfriend, I have an adopted family. Her children and grandchildren have filled that void in my life. For that I am eternally grateful.
And, corny as it may seem, I am thankful for the friends I have made in this community. Yes, I have to put up with some of you foul mouthed, smack talking turkeys (it is turkey day, isn't it?:D), but I do appreciate the commaraderie we have. And, most especially, I appreciate my team. Many have been with me a long time. Some have gone on to other teams/clans or independent, but they are all still my friends. For that, I am thankful.
God bless you all and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
