Need advice about a car stereo system a friend is selling

Post by []V[]essenjah »

Hey everyone,

Right now I have a friend who wants to sell me a really nice amp and a subwoofer for a pretty good price.

Currently I'm running on an old rockford system which is a single 12" subwoofer, a 300 watt amp, and I'm running this on an Alpine CDA-7983 reciever.

What I have on this system isn't even pushing it and my friend states that this system he want's to sell me is built to work on reciever such as my Alpine.

The system he is selling me is a brand new, XTI 400 watt amp, and two 10" subs inside a large box and they are facing each other at a slight angle within the box, it also includes bass tubes and a plexiglass window. To top this off, it includes all of the required cables. From what I understand the cables probably would cost about $45 by themselves (from what he told me anyway) and he states that he has a special deal that will enable him to have it professionally installed. His friend is charging $250 for the system and we figure this system could probably at least be worth $500 all together. He might be able to lower it to $200 to sweeten the deal. He is anxiouse to sell it to me and has another buyer waiting but he gave me first dibs because I am a friend. Anyway, right now I am trying to save for college so I feel that this really needs to be worth my time to fork out the money. Anyway, I need to let him know by tommorow sometime. Anyway, does anyone have any advice on this system? Thanks!!
