Using XP Pro I can select to 'open each folder in the same window' in the Tools>Folder Options but it doesn't work.
Is there a setting somewhere else that overrides this choice? I have TweakUI installed but I don't see that as having a choice that would have done this...
Maybe I'm just crazy but I swear I thought that I used to be able to open a folder and within that folder open another etc. etc. so when I finally got to what I was looking for I would only have one folder to close to be back to the desktop.
'open folders in same window' won't work

Found the solution (Google is the best!)
Go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
>The Data probably says "explore". Change it to "none" (Right click on "(Default)",
>click "modify"...)
Hope I didn't screw up something else in the process, regedit and I get along like Hillary Clinton and Rush Limbaugh
