Agreed, there were some very brilliant ideas in the miniseries. I am very happy with it.
I am also old enough to remember watching the original on TV as it aired, and now own the entire series on DVD. Heck, even Richard Hatch is going to make an apperance, anyone who has ever read his website knows just how big a deal that is....
Tried to find the thread from last year right after it aired, I think myself and one, maybe two people liked it, the rest thought it was either crap or blasphamy......

When I was a kid, BG was an awesome space SCIFI that ruled. Having just seen the series again, it's just about the most rediculous piece of crap I've seen.
It makes Tom Baker's Dr. Who look like an intellectual exercise in realistic scientific conjecture.
BG was definately a kid's TV show in the 80s. I'm pretty content to leave it there in the graveyard of the past.

When we were young, everything was cool. Anyone remember "Buck Rogers in the 25th 1/2 century?" That rocked with Erin Grey but today it's pure crap.
What about Space 1999? Same thing.
What about Dukes of Hazzard? Yes, you liked it. Now it sucks.
It's all what we like at the time period of our lives.

I remember watching the original Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe...back when t.v. was only black and white.CDN_Merlin wrote:When we were young, everything was cool. Anyone remember "Buck Rogers in the 25th 1/2 century?" That rocked with Erin Grey but today it's pure crap.
I'm sure if I were to watch it today, Flash Gordon would seem really hokey. As I haven't watched since the 50's, I still have fond memories of FG.
I still enjoy the old shows, no special effects and all.
Logan's run
Planet of the apes
Buck Rogers
Battlestar Galactica
Land of the Giants
6 Million Dollar Man
Thunderbirds
All good TV series, even tho most didnt last more than a season or two...
...the suckage will start when The Dukes hit the big screen this year....

So, the new Battlestare is actually good? I used to watch the original. Didn't even bother with the new one after I read about it. When I read the part about the main character being changed to a female... and the villian being a female and one of her main attributes, being that her eyes glow red when she's going at it.... it really didn't make me have much love for the new version. I was sort of waiting for them to say that Kevin Sorbo joined in for the cast.

Stress, if you have any spoilers to mention use the [spoiler] tag. That goes for all of you as well. Any outright open spoilers will be deleted on sight.
That being said, the first two episodes ("33" and "Water" are two seperate eps) turned out to be somewhat decent after all. I'll give it a season before I render a final verdict, but so far I somewhat like what I saw. Though right now I hope number 6 gives the damn sermon crap a rest. It was all I could do to keep from changing the channel when she kept going on and on about "repenting".

From what I've read so far #'s 1-13STRESSTEST wrote:How many eps are there this season?
Kobol's Last Gleaming: Part 2
Series Finale unless they make a 2nd season
The show, continuing the story from the high rating 2003 mini-series which lead to the first season, began airing the other month on UK's Sky One TV and has proven a big success. The show will not air on US cable television til January and its expected a decision will then be made by Sci-Fi after the first few episodes air as to whether or not to go ahead with a second series.
Should it happen, a February 18th production startup date is tipped to already be set. The production uses the Lions Gate Studios in North Vancouver to film the show.

Ok, as much as I despise the mini-series, I do have to say that the show itself is turning out to be somewhat decent. I haven't watched last week's episode yet (re-airs tonight at 9pm CST), but I do have to say that so far it looks like the show might actually be a good one. If it keeps building up like it has been, then I really do hope it gets a second season.
