D2 Install Troubles

Im installing D2 on my WIN XP Pro and Ill click install on the auto run screen and the blue dos comes up and I tell it no I havent had D2 and it dies. And it says D2 Install and its blue and nothing comes up its just blue with install D2 at top and then I have to end now it. ??? :?: :?

Try installing the Windows 95 version. Windows XP and older DOS programs dont usually get along very well.

Yeah sorry lol I had alot of thoughts going around in my mind and Vindicator how do I get he win 95 version man? Under Properties>Compatiblity cause it dont work. I go in the cd and open the Install.exe instead of auto run and it pops up Install Descent II in the blue dos and it just stops there. I exit out and it says end now :(

Explore D2 CD, look for Winsetup folder, open, clickity click on setup.

I installed mine from DOS (boot disk, not a DOS window) w/ CD support.

I dont have the Winsetup folder Canuck but I have this CD of D2 and like a special 4 pack of D2 upstairs ill look on it and give you further due.

I have AUTORUN CONTROLS D2DATA and thats it folders lemme go look on other disks.

The win9x install is screwed up with me... never worked.

I just clicked "install.exe", and installed the DOS version, then I installed the win9x patch. It worked for me... sort of.
