I'd say Windows Media Player 9 becoming the size of a taskbar button when you minimize it.

I wanted to try the Google Deskbar but it says it needs IE5.5 minimum. I'm happy with IE5.0 thankyou.
The thing I use the most though, is Winamp 2.
What I also like is <a href=
http://www.google.com/search?q=media+pl ... ssic>Media Player Classic</a> because it's just like WMP 6.4 (which I used to use) but it plays Quicktime and DVD's like any other movie file, but it has many more features and tweaks if required.

The coolest windows enhancement I have ever seen was to unplug the machine. It haven't had a lick of trouble with it since.

My favorite is actually a DOS utility ... But it usually ends up being the solution to fixing a windows installation that is 6 months old or over ...
