quote:
Welcome,
My name is Greg Weisman. I was one of the creators and producer of the Gargoyles television series (which is, as you all know, the 100% property of the Walt Disney Company). Gorebash and I have set up a couple of pages here at Station Eight so that I might be able to answer your questions about the show and/or ramble on about anything vaguely Gargoyles-related that strikes my fancy.

However, Gargoyles isn't the only project Greg has worked on. Remember the short-lived "Starship Troopers: Roughnecks"? He was behind that as well.

I really liked that show. But the way UPN played the episodes, the series sorta lacked continuity for me. Still, overall goodness.

Roughnecks was pretty neat, actually. A few years ago when the Sci-Fi Channel was airing their BKN cartoon program in the morning, Roughnecks was a part of it. They showed it mostly in sequence, but never showed the final episodes. Visually, it was extremely impressive, practically on the level of the Final Fantasy movie. And they even managed to retain the cynicism of the original Heinlein novel, which ultimately might have been its problem - it was a cartoon that (*gasp*) wasn't all bright and cheery.
It has since been released on DVD. It probably represents the best CG animation ever seen in a television program.

Soundtrack available for d/l! Even if you're not a fan of the series, I highly recommend you nab the Season 1 mp3. Damn good stuff.
