Drum roll please:
"The Apple Powerbook 100 has been chosen as the greatest gadget of all time, by US magazine Mobile PC.
The 1991 laptop was chosen because it was one of the first "lightweight" portable computers and helped define the layout of all future notebook PCs."

The remote control for the TV. A mans best friend. There is somthing so tostestoronial about the relationship between the remote and the male...somthing that women will never understand. I love my remote...he's called Bill.

Oh give me a break, an apple powerbook? What were they smoking when they said that? TV remote is a good suggestion, I'd toss in a good cordless drill, extremely handy sometimes.

wtf..a blender has more prominence than an Apple computer. As does anything slapped with an "As Seen On TV".

I personally think the wheel ranks right up there.

I had a powerbook 100. It was pretty fancy at the time.

I think gadgets could be better defined as toys then inventions. Alot of you have named great inventions: wheel, abacus..., but a gadget is something you don't really need. I think the slim laptop is a good choice. The first thing that popped in my mind was the sony walkman and I think they put it at 3rd.

Clearly they've never watched a single episode of MacGyver.
