If you know you're dead - why not take some pictures of what's gonna kill you? This is essentially the same as the guy who took the amazing sequence of St. Helens exploding - except he knew he was going into danger - and after he took his photos he packed the camera deep inside his backpack because he knew the explosion was going to kill him.
