INGUS wages war against D3's Greatest threat.....of the now!
Moderator: Do_Checkor
heh, im not asking you to schedule a cyberdate with me. i asked if you thought you'd be on saturday so we could play, since theres been such a huge debate about who's better at d3, SD + PD players or everyone else. i want to see for myself if you're as good as people from PD seem to think, thats all. just to satisfy my own curiosity. 1v1 is the only way to really know, it pits person versus person and eliminates outside factors. thats why i asked. dont read into it.
i'll have time outside of my life on saturday, which involves many things more serious and important than soccer and scouts by the way, like working so i can pay rent, car payment, my bike payment, my college tuition, some food, life insurance, health insurance, 401k, court costs to fight for my daughter, and other things. (like condoms and lube, for example). i might even unpack some boxes, since i just moved and havent finished yet.
but if you dont wanna play, i dont really care. you seem to think that i give 2 sh1ts about you and your 13 year old life. get real. if you're scared, i'll find someone else to entertain me during my free time. dont sweat it.

..and that observer macro is queerer than a 3 dollar bill...
I remember many times that chode sucking rump-boy pulled it on me...Usually right before calling me a hacker in circuit breaker as I multiply owned him with MD and vauss. He'd respawn...throw some concs and and blues and when I turned...BLAM observer...
Wash rinse repeat until he got a weapon.
And I still smoked him.
Which is funny because, as Kurrupt can attest, I truly suck. I have a deep and abiding humility regarding my d3 skillz...I gained this appreciation of my relative skillz over the last couple years...but in the wake of a config change, I think it's probably safe to say that I can STILL smoke him...or at least force him into observer!

you have me labeled all wrong mister freud. i'm none of those things. i'm the guy who thinks its funny that you're a dumbass.
i know the skill level of the players in this community, i've put my dues in here. i know for a fact that you aren't ★■◆● in d3, and if you had testicles i'd prove it to you. every offer i've made for a game has been declined over and over. you're talking the talk, i'm talking the talk. the difference between us is that i've already walked the walk and you havent had the courage to take a step yet, newb.

huh what, he doesn't have me for a teammate. You'd be in some trouble if I...oh, misread
Archer, your stats you posted are most likely very flawed. You should note the weapons used to get the kills. Superdupermegazowie-cantdodgecauseits5000mph acid whatever that is that SD pilots drop whenever they blink, or primaries. How many missles did Ingus throw, compared to Bet? How many of her kills did she even see? (Same with most mag pilots, they don't even see their kills, they just lob down a hallway and wander off, and somehow, their frag count went up one.) You can't really claim a kill if you didn't even try for it, didn't even see your opponent. You know how much harder it is to get a kill with lasers when you're dodging 50 missles (that aim for you, so your lazy ass doesn't have to try) at a time? Any kill he gets is worth two or three of anyone elses's in that level.
Kurput, newbs are just new to the game, n00bs is the word you're looking for.

To say mag pilots dont see most of their kills is foolish Testi, maybe you have been playing kata/bi3 too much. I see most of my kills and I almost exclusively fly the tank.
Archer, who said Ingus was our champion, for that matter who said we even need a champion? I wouldnt think of Ingus as a champion of the game, a champion of entertainment yes, but game no. I think of him as a always entertaining friend who does much to keep things interesting around here. I respect Ingus not because of how he plays descent, but because he is a cool guy.
And "decisively looses to them"... there is nothing decisive about 2-0 or 20-20, let alone in a level that seems designed to lower the skill level as much possible. You want to see a decisive battle, have them all go in to subway dancer WITHOUT the modded weapons and see what comes out of it.
I wonder how many of these kids from planet descent have no clue how funny all these Ingus antics are?

(KURUPT - My response was intended as a joke, kid . I didnâ??t know it would be so far over your head. You really wanna fight me? Are you sure? â?¦ Hehehe . Weâ??ll talk about that later. In the meantime, lighten up. )
The INGUS - BETTINA battle goes beyond their wins & losses. I said before there are 2 schools of fighters, â??Sharpshooters & Tunnel Gunnersâ?

ArcherOmega, Wow.....I'm very humbled. I didn't even know that about me and your right, I have never changed my name ever. And, I jump in other games too and fight whats there with my same type of ship. The reason I respect TRUE fighters like Bettina is NOT because they win or lose, but because they engage in RANDOM COMBAT / ANY TIME under their PRIMARY TAGS, the measure of a true COMPETITOR.
I printed out your whole text and have it on my wall. It's the code I will play by. I'm proud to be a tunnel gunner.
Thank you very much.

A factor that makes the most difference why newer players have not played me or seen my style is because I really do not play that often anymore. As far as D3 goes I am old and set in my ways, I play once every couple weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less (working more lately so playing less).
Also, about 2/3 of the time I get the "feel like playing D3" itch, I look at the servers that are running, and its only stadium, subway dancer, and veins or halcyon, somehow the itch just goes away instantly.
My "style" is very good at what I use it for in smallish rat levels. But if you play me in other levels like Apparition (with sharks in) that I used to play a LOT back in 1999/2000 you will find that I am not that much over average in levels like that. Any level that is primarally dominated by the phoenix is generally a level that I dont do as well in, most of the time I fly the pyro in those levels for the extra speed.
Bah, gotta go to work now.

It matters a lot to me. I like to know who I'm fighting. Is that wrong? The only explanation of why people change tags, is to protect their primary "player" tags from an unknown or untested player. Once they determine the threat, they come back with the appropriate name. I've seen it.I don't see how "primary tags" even matters. It seems like an artificial constraint you've tried to force upon people just so you can make up your own bogus definition of "true competitor".
Lothar...why are you so mad...is it because deep down you know ArcherOmega is right?
Bettina
Say you have a match like a "war" or somethin... if your primary tag is QUACK you cant go under REFRIGERATOR... then if u happen to beat someone by 1 kill in the "war" thats cowardice cause you just pick off the player possibly waiting for someone else that might be you.
but when ur not in a war or anythin and you just feel like playin in different names thats fine. just dont say you owned someone you were at "war" with under a new alias that you might never use again.
as for there are only two types of players, that, is bogus.

Bettina, Lothar's not mad; he just knows that ArcherOmega is full of it. If you want someone to take as a role model in the Descent community, look at Lothar; he's been here longer than most other people, and he definitely knows of what he speaks. As for AO, I've personally never seen him in a D3 game; in fact, I haven't really heard of him at all before this. Suffice it to say that his opinions about types of D3 pilots are dead wrong; Lothar's post is right. There's one thing I learned early on about this community: showing the best pilots a good deal of respect and recognizing your own noobishness will get you respected in return. Starting flamewars, coming in with an ego, or making unsubstantiated claims will get you turned into a laughtingstock. The choice is yours, but I'd much rather choose the former than the latter.
Spaceboy, what "wars" are you talking about? No D3 match is a "war," unless you count the current crusade to force the Dancerites to fly in real D3 levels. Regarding aliases, I'd wager that most of the veteran pilots here use aliases because their skill has caused them to face cheat accusations from n00bs. It's far easier to just play as "i_pee_in_teh_sink" than to face a bunch of rookies who complain every time you kill them . Other pilots fly under alias to avoid the immediate reaction to their normal names. For example, if Birdseye was to jump in some random Anarchy server, most of the people there would probably start getting perturbed, because of his high level of skill. It would be much easier for him to enter under alias, so that he was not recognized. Personally, I always fly under my normal name, but that's just my personal choice; besides, I'm not good enough for my name to have any notoriety . Using an alias is not a way to "protect" a pilot file; it's a way to avoid hack detections or just play an anonymous game without the name recognition factor. Plus, for some players, it's fun to have a different name every game .

About one out of 5 times I go to play D3 now, I type in a new alias when I get to the main menu.
I have a lot of fun with aliases, Like a few years ago at least once a day, if not several times every game I played, I would kill someone with a bit of talent that most players lacked and they would often say "BS" to me, I decided to turn it into an alias, and thus "Flying BS" was born.
I R TEH NOOB! Was a amusing alias I typed out one day before joining a game, lotsa people seem to like that one.
I think this game should be fun, so I try to keep it light with a funny alias. I mean sure, someone who cares might prefer "Krom disintigrates <someone>'s hull with the Fusion", but I get a kick out of "A Trained Monkey disintigrates <someone>'s hull with the Fusion", it sounds much more funny.
A lot of people who use aliases will fit this mold, they don't do it to 'protect' their primary alias, they do it because it is fun.

I didn't start the flamewar.......Ingus "of the now" did, and if you look you'll see I stayed out of it for days until I couldn't take it anymore. So your wrong there.Starting flamewars, coming in with an ego
Ego?.....Excuse me!.....(I forgive you) I've never once said I was better than anyone except when fooling with Ingus. I've said it plenty of times that I'm not a good player and I play to have fun. ArcherOmega is dead on, and that's what bothers Lothar. I may be a tunnel gunning noob, but I'm real.
Ingus....yoo-hoo.....I'm waiting for you.
Bettina
Another thing.....D3 is not dying. I said this before that even if all the servers go down and everyone goes away, I will force my Dad to get a server going. I know how to manipulate him in an emergency. Then, I will get a boyfriend and make him play. He will play if he wants to stay with me and he will bring his friends.
However, if another D3 type game comes out, I will go to that if everyone else does ONLY if it looks like D3.
SOMEDAY, I will go to a Lan too.
Bettina....

For the last time, Bettina, AO is dead wrong. Lothar isn't "bothered;" if you've ever read the Ethics and Commentary forum, this is usually how Lothar responds to erroneous posts. And whose testimony are you going to put more stock in: a person who has been with the community since D1 and is one of the most respected people in said community, or someone who seems to have come out of nowhere spewing crazy theories and flame-bait? Before you end up getting ridiculed by the entire community, at least consider what I said to you. I'm only speaking in your best interests, as well as the best interests of the entire community.

Ok if its fading why don't you jump in and help revive it?
I myself have "converted" over half a dozen groundpounders this year alone... and I live in a very small Town.
Also I don't understand people that sit here and type such and such a level is "ghey" and therefore all pilots in that level are inferior.
Talk about being an elitist and a fricken lemming if you avoid levels because others say it's a poor one.
So your opinion means what? To me I don't give a flying **** what you think about a level... if people are in it I'll give it a whirl.
If I don't like it, well then I'll just find another one. I don't go post that the pilots that play it have no skills etc.
This just shows me you have no skills at real life. Which face it pilots is what really counts, not being able to MD a skippy Phoenix from across a level with 1 shot while dogging 2 other pilots.
Wow you are so teh D3 God, and all life revolves around you and your l33t skillz.
You must get all the gurls and the best jobs because if you put that on your resume for a job, you for sure would get it...
I don't get on a BB and post that people that play a specific level that I don't like are NooBs, ghey, or have no skill. I'd feel like a turdbutter.
Grow the f**k up.
