wow, he answered it and more. That was so interesting. So the mass of protons is actually from the speed of their internal muons whizzing around close to c, making the practically massless quarks seem to have a much greater mass.
Facinating!
i never considered relativity would be used in the quantum world.

And if we were whizzing around the same as those muons, then we wouldn't feel it's gravity at all because the effect only comes from their speed being RELATIVE to us - if we're both traveling the same speed/direction then it's not relative at all.
Even more facinating!

Nice job fleshing this out a bit and getting some answers Bettina. Well done. Has piqued my interest into doing some reading into Minkowski's formulation - but there is so much rust; anybody got some extra Aerokroil or WD40? Or perhaps it's just inertia? :)
