CHICAGO (AP) — Republican presidential John McCain assured Hispanic leaders he would push through Congress legislation to overhaul federal immigration laws if elected, several people who attended a private meeting with the candidate said Thursday.

Democrats questioned why the Arizona senator held the meeting late Wednesday night in Chicago. But supporters who were in the room denied that McCain held the closed-door session out of fear of offending conservatives, many of whom want him to take a harder line on immigration.
So where is the media uproar about McCain's closed door meeting with Hispanic leaders? Are you going to offer similar condemnation woodchip? :P

My liberal media always lets me down :(....

So the Obama campaign, as you said, who plan and manage all parts of his image....

... were willing to risk, as woodchip points out, loosing Michigan.....not so that the RNC would have pictures of him with Muslims, but so that the RNC wouldn't have any more pictures of him with Muslims.

Got it, that is so much more likely. :|

Gooberman, it's real simple, the seats behind the podium aren't open to first come first serve!
They are seats that always get filled by his handlers selecting the kind of backdrop they want for whatever public image they need at the moment.
Someone wanted more black faces and screwed up when the black guys they selected wanted to bring along some friends who weren't in the group when the selection took place, one of which was wearing Muslim looking attire and was quickly stopped from taking a seat as soon as the handler got a look at her.

It's not that they risked all with a new policy to start bullying Muslims from taking the seats behind the podium.
They always control those seats and hand pick the people that get seated there. But in this instance someone screwed up by not filtering their choices well enough. They were never at risk of being exposed if the handlers did their job correctly, they simply wouldn't have selected any Muslim looking people and no one would have to know the policy...
If you think those seats were ever open to anyone who wasn't selected by Obama's campaign, not just some local college student volunteer, then you haven't been there and seen what goes on behind the scenes at a political candidates appearance.
