I'm not trying to harass anybody, I just never seen Lothar act anything but with the most tactfull civility. Truthg is, for a second I thought his account got hacked.

Tell you the truth, after more than 10 years of posting on here, I've never met anyone from the community, I've talked with Zonerie on the phone a couple times. I think maybe I should road trip to a LAN or something if they still go on. Maybe get a better grasp of how people really are.

I've never been able to stay focused for a whole family guy episode. The jokes are never relavent to what is going on, and being ripped away from the plot that frequently just leads my mind to wander.

Imagine if Descentbb.net was a real pub we all went to. Ferno would have killed me in the parking lot already.

I think your sarcasm detector is due for its annual inspection.
Cmon, with 11000 posts to my name, do you really think I'd call other people losers for posting too much?

Probably be a bunch of scruffy nerds in sweatpants who take a shower once a week whether they need it or not.

Cartoons like Family Guy is a drop in the bucket. This has been going long before most of us were even born. Want to see offensive. Here a some of the classics that started it all.
Donald Duck - American - The spirit of 43
Walt Disney Cartoon - Hitler's Children Education For Death
Warner Bros racist cartoon clips
Flintstones Cigarette Commercial

those are a bit different Tiger. Mostly War propaganda which was acceptable then.

Which was acceptable back then. Yes! But not any more Duper. Which is why they are seen as offensive and banned from television. When was the last time any of these cartoons aired?

You don't get it. doing something that is acceptable and then regarded as \"ugly\" because of a paradime shift in culture as apposed to something that from the start INTENTIONALLY created offensive for \"shock humor's\" sake is not. That tiger, is call hypocrisy.

acually duper, hypocrisy is saying one thing and doing the exact opposite.
so what is your argument, exactly?

I know history behind them and its intentions.
Duper you completely missed my point here. I’m merely pointing out what was acceptable back in that era is no longer accepted by today’s censorship. These cartoons are marked as barbaric, racist, hateful, and stereotypical that many will find offensive.

So TigerRaptorFX what you are saying is society has become too sensitive to things? I agree.

Which is a fair point.
How about Duper's counterpoint: that those things from the past era were not produced with the INTENT of causing offense, but rather have become offensive as standards have changed. This is different from certain modern shows, jokes, etc. that are INTENDED to be offensive (often with the goal of drumming up publicity; how many people watched the clip just because someone else said "this is offensive!"?)

I'm offended that people are offended by a cartoon. When have you last walked around and look a what is going on in the real world.

does anyone know if the producers of family guy are actually trying to be offensive, or are they creating jokes that a fair number of people find offensive?

I think they're just scraping the bottom of the barrel.

That's all most American cartoons do, sadly.

Haha. That reminds of this woman I dated. That's not offensive, it's kinda true actually - some people just aren't afraid to say it.

Far from it. The "whitewashing problem" that the bookstore is alleging carries about the same worth as the latest celebrity relationship.

So a little racism is ok as long as it small. A person is a person no matter how small.

let's try this again: they are calling wolf when there is none. much ado about nothing. mountain out of dust. something out of nothing. nonexistent problem. non-issue.
they are making. it. up.
this guy is trying coerce people into buying something by playing the racist card. Instead what he should do is try to highlight the authors' value and their literary worth. In other words, the owner is judging the books by their cover and asking his customers to do the same. what an insult to peoples' intelligence.
"don't judge people based on the color of their skin, but by the content of their character"
