new question.... im reading that the 460 1gb is recommended @ 24A on the 12v rail..... my current 650 Zion pushes 20.... can i keep my Zion or do i need a new one?

You should have more than just one 12v rail. (Eg: my 700w PSU has 4 separate 12v rails each at 18A.)

And again, as long as you have two PCIe power connectors you are pretty much guaranteed sufficient power to run a 460. Each 6 pin PCIe power plug is good for 150 watts and the 460 1 GB is rated at 160 watts so it just barely needs two.

AceCombat.... why do you have that Jerry-rigged fan setup with cardboard and electrical tape.. That's like driving a car with all the windows open wondering why the A/C is not doing it's job

Put the Case back together to restore the case-flow and use a real side case fan...

because i got the case without the side panel, it was given to me as a gift from my computer recycling job boss.

nice avatar BTW

Krom: it is actually a XON-600F14T-201 600W 2x 12V 22A PSU....

new question.....

2 people are sending me 2 different 9800GT's can i SLI these? one is for sure a PNY, im reading everywhere that NVidia drivers allow mismatched cards but the clocks have to match.

the post i read was based on the 185.85 drivers.... NVidia is now at the 250 mark for drivers.....

im running 257.51 version and cant find anything about the new drivers and mismatched cards

Should still work, even if the clock speeds don't match as long as they are still reference designs you can just flash the BIOS from the slower card to the faster card to fix it.

okay its a evga card for the second one...., now is 600 watts enough for two 9800GT's? i have 2x 22a rails and everything im reading now says i need 26a rails?

you need 26A in total, you have 44 to provide.

by AceCombat
is that for 1 or 2 cards?

single card.

SLI is only useful for the rich.

Hell, my 460 needs 26 A...

well 2 friends are offering me their 9800GT's so im getting them for nothing.....

i also have a 3rd option of getting a 9800GTX+ for nothing....

would i be better off with the 2 98 GT's or the 98GTX+?

the two GTs will give you a higher framerate
the single GTX+ will give you less controller lag
